Moving Day in Des Moines

Did somebody say HUMID? The truck came at around 9:30 today (a day late) and it was unloaded and picked up by 3:30 and we felt like we were walking through a hot furnace all day. I guess you eventually get used to it but it would take more than a week which is what we have here. I still can't believe how friendly people are here. One neighbor came and brought muffins, one brought a couple pens(what was that all about), and a couple friends, from the last time they were here, stopped by to say welcome. The teenage girl from across the street came by to introduce herself and the mailman hand delivered Jess's letter and introduced himself also. We would all do well to follow these examples. I to often think that I should do something like that and then let my life interrupt and it doesn't happen. I need to do better. But right now all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep. My feet are so tired they already went to bed without me. 'Anthony was so cute today, he worked so hard helping us. He opened all the boxes of toys and games and put them all away downstairs all by himself. He even broke down the boxes and brought them up to the garage. Mikelle kept taking them out to play with them and he got pretty upset. He said "Mikelle, you are making my job so much harder." She couldn't quite understand why he was so upset. I can't believe Megan and Mica moved from a small apartment, I don't know where all the stuff was because they sure had a lot of boxes. We all looked like we were homeless people living on the streets by the end of the day today. I asked Bob if he was body surfing on the boxes before he brought them in because his yellow shirt was black from top to bottom. I went to pick up some dinner for us and I looked at my shirt and it was so dirty I would have been embarrassed if I weren't so tired. Oh well, I won't see any of those people again so what the heck. Now watch, I will go to church on Sunday and someone will recognize me from Culvers. Anyway, the kitchen is put together which is a major task and we are all tired. I am the last one up so I think I will go join my feet and go to bed. If any of my kids are reading this, please don't plan a move anytime soon.
